Material must be accompanied by a composite pre-press proof indicatingtrim and color, preferably Chromalin.
Digital Files
Materials must be provided in CD or uploaded to our FTP, for FTP access information please contact ALA. Please provide ads in PDF format, press ready with embedded fonts.
Files must be IBM compatible.
If the advertising material requires editing or translation, please supply files in one of the following electronic formats, listed in order of preference, at a minimum resolution of 300 DPI and CMYK color process:
InDesign CS2 including all graphics, art and fonts.
Photoshop CS2 with layers, including fonts.
Note: Other formats are not accepted.
Covers
Covers are full page, full color, billed at an additional $450.00. Available covers: Inside front cover, back cover and inside back cover. No cancellations on confirmed covers will be accepted.
Classified Ads
Minimum size is 2¼” (W) x 1” (H) (5.70 X 2.50 cm). Classified ads requiring more than 1” (2.50 cm) in height will be charged at the next 1” (2.50 cm) increment and thereafter. Classified ads require a minimumfrequency of three times.
Ad Agency Commission
Fifteen percent commission of gross billing is provided to qualified advertising agencies.
Publishing and Closing Dates
Closing date for insertion orders is the 10th day of the month preceding publication. The closing date for material is the 15th day of the month preceding the publication month. Contact ALA for extension on submittal of materials.
The magazine published issue month is also the month of publication. Distribution of each issue is performed at the end of the published issue month.
Contract Commitments
Contracted frequency will be billed at the prevailing rate at the time of contract. All contracted frequency must be consumed within a 12-issue period, unless contracted for a term longer than 12-issues. Cancellations may result in billing at the one time frequency insertion rate.
Translation Service at No Charge
ALA encourages our customers to allow us to assist with translation of ad copy from English to Spanish and/or Portuguese at no additional cost. ALA will provide translations in Microsoft Word to be easily inserted in the ad layout. If ALA produces the translation directly in the ad, proofs will be forwarded to the client for approval before production is complete. We request that advertising material needing translation is provided in an electronic format that allows text editing.
